Bill and I have ridden together on two long distance trips...one in 2007 and one last year in 2008.

This page will give you just a little insight into who we are.

Bill And Me

The Riders

I don't mind riding alone but on a cross country venture it is most advisable to have a riding partner. As I jokingly say to those who ask: I need someone to point out to the authorities where I ran off the road. Otherwise, Donna might have to hire Cold Case actors to determine what happened to me.

On two previous rides my companion for this ride has been with me. He rode on my Footsteps trip and on my Northwest Passage trip. We have similar desires relative to riding patterns and route selections. We ride together well.

Bill Hart

Bill and I met in Alpine, Texas, a few years ago during one of my trips to Big Bend National Park. I rode there with members of the Hill Country Road Riders (HCRR) group I ride with on weekends. I discovered Thunderbike had a flat tire when I left the motel in the morning and Bill, who was living in Alpine at the time and had joined the group for the ride that day, volunteered to help me, a stranger, repair my tire. We received a soft inflation from Bill Alexander (a group member). It was enough to get me to a gas station and 65 pounds of air for a fifteen mile ride to Bill's home outside Alpine. There, Mike Egan, another group member, Bill and I managed to repair the tube in my tire. We rejoined the group at lunch time. The rest is history.

Bill rides a 2002 Honda Goldwing with over 75,000 miles on it from his own trips across this great country. His wife Carole rides with him from time to time and will join us in New England on the 15th of June for our excursion throughout that scenic area.

Bill and Carole currently live near San Antonio and Bandera Texas and we have become good friends who share many similar attitudes and beliefs. He is a great riding companion and a wonderful clothes washer while on the road. It's called division of duties: he washes clothes...I write journals and make albums.

Me

Not much to say here. You can find out most all you need to know from my website but in short: I love the outdoors, technology, art, science, writing, puzzles, humor, puns, excitement, challenges, memories, my country, birds, animals, working, playing, and riding motorcycles on cross country trips. In general terms - I Love Living. I'm retired from three careers and continue working as a website designer for small businesses.

Gary in JacketGary in T-ShirtI took up motorcycle riding only a few years ago and have traveled many miles since then logging over 100,000 miles in 6 years. I have made trips into Middle America, Great Lakes, Coast to Coast, Northwest, Big Bend, Arkansas, and numerous unrecorded journeys. As you ride with me, you will discover many things I have left out of this brief description.
