Corona de Tucson, Arizona
66-0294
66-0294 along with 66-0291, 66-0377, and 66-0329 will be the fourth through the seventh old friend I will visit. Because they are located is such close proximity to each other, it is uncertain which I will visit first.
66-0294 is displayed in front of theMcCulloch-Wagner American Legion Post 109 southeast of Tucson, Arizona. The first picture is of today's look. The second is when it was deteriorating at that location and the third is when it was in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. An amazing story of how one young lady, Cali Knowlton (a junior in high school) and two ex-Thunderbirds, Dick and Dee Pfeiffer, turned an aging old friend into a symbol of gratitude for veteran's the world over.
