The Home Page
|
This website is packed with enjoyable and useful information and pictures of an exciting life. I intend to continue working on it until I travel the last, long highway. Hang around. You may discover something you didn't know before. I am always working on the site in one way or another. All links (except the HOME link in the Heraldry) are in RED.
General information about the site needs to be explained.
The site is best viewed and heard in a screen size of 1024 pixels wide and on the free standards compliant web browser Firefox with Javascript enabled and Adobe Flash Player installed. I have not tried to make it work on non-standards compliant browsers. If you have problems, switch to Firefox for a greater experience.
The HOMEFRONT link takes you to the Nature Trail, Birds, and Plants pages among other things - all major undertakings!
Click on TRAVELS to discover where my family and I, together or alone, have been. When completed, the list will be quite extensive.
Under BUSINESSES you will find my website business activity and other activities we are involved in.
The WRITINGS link will take you to information about three books I have written so far with another couple in the development stages.
The ALBUMS link will take you to the area containing uploaded image stories.
In the LIBRARY, you will be able to view a list of available photo albums and other information. Follow the instructions.
And of course, the CONTACT INFO page gives you information on how to get in touch with me.
If you like to work from a SITE MAP as you explore a site, that page is available HERE.
Enjoy your visit. I've enjoyed building this site.
At any time, you can RETURN TO THIS PAGE by clicking on the family crest in the upper section of the navigation panel.

Spring is Coming -- Posted on Saturday, February 11 2012
Robins everywhere - by the hundreds. They even wait for space in the birdbath. Cedar Waxwings also showed up. A Blue Gray Gnatcatcher graced our pond area. A Yellow Rumped Warbler ran into our window. A Ring Necked Duck borrowed Bob's upper pond the other day.
It's cold today but the promise of spring is evident in the migrations happening as we watch the activity out our Family Room windows. I saw a Bluebird the other day as well and an elegant Red Shouldered Hawk as I walked of the deck onto the trail this afternoon.
It is refreshing in the midst of wonder for the future of the human species. More on that later.

Today, January 16, 2012, marks the first anniversary of precious Piper Kate Younglove's death from Leigh's Disease. Please view the video her father prepared for her memorial celebration (the one at the top) and never forget Piper or all the other little children who depend on us for everything!

Our Gray Fox -- Posted on Sunday, August 28 2011
We thought he/she was lost but yesterday I saw he/she it in my front meadow area. I was happy to reconnect. The animal was not looking well fed. This horrible drought is tough on every living thing. Seriously! I mean for real!!! When I walk on my lawn to the hose to drip soak the big trees in an effort to save them, it as though I am walking on crispy critters. most of the yard is dirt...no grass...dusty and sad. So the Gray Fox survives somehow and I heard it tonight as I wandered in the dark to turn off the drip systems for the day. The animal's bark was more a cry than a bark and it echoed in the still night air. Think of a bird with a loud mouth attitude saying CIIEER. You have to hear it. And then the response from far away as though muffled by blankets. Awesome. It has a friend in this horrible drought. We move on and the lone fox calls out in the darkness for a friend. We need to understand how all this works. It could save our species.

Thanks for visiting my site! I have been working to improve the currency of the data on this site and bring it more up to speed as to depth of content. As you move around you will see some areas that aren't there yet. Please hang in and I'll eventually get there. But for the most part you will be able to access and see most everything.
